MARKETING/GRAPHIC DESIGN
Work Sample Selection/Summary
I selected the Grow With Us double-sided flyer because it shows how a straightforward design request can spark an idea that turns into a multi-year marketing campaign. The initial proposal was for a flyer highlighting Bryan ISD's 12 main programs to promote student registration. That request turned into a mailer sent out to Bryan ISD's entire community, which turned into a landing page listing those programs, eventually becoming an enduring movement highlighted in the "Lasting Impact" section at the bottom of this page.
My Role
Becoming Bryan ISD's primary graphic designer was an unexpected development I learned to enjoy and embrace. I regularly design the following:
For the selected flyer, my role was to create the design and write the flyer's content.
Lasting Impact
The selected Grow With Us flyer was a necessary component of marketing Bryan ISD because it laid out all the possible programs for students, but its potential impact stretched much further. I decided the program needed a face, and so our team worked with school administration to select a student at each of Bryan ISD’s three core high schools to outline possible pathways for new Bryan ISD students. The three students selected to be the face of the pathways, our “Path Leaders,” participated in multiple Bryan ISD programs. They have been profiled in advertisements, three separate mailers, and videos. The second group of Path Leaders recently became the focal point of Bryan ISD's new district website and campus websites, which we designed to focus on reaching out to parents who are already a part of the district but might need to learn about all its programs as well as new parents. Possible future extensions to the Path Leader campaign exist for choosing Path Leaders at younger grade levels. As you might guess, I believe there are possibilities to create structured people-focused campaigns to market the programs at Texas A&M University Libraries. I would love the opportunity to work with your team to map out those possibilities.
