Work Sample Selection/Summary
When pitching stories to the media, I create unique angles that are attractive to editors and news directors. This successful pitch offered an unusual angle where academics were treated like a sporting event.
My Role
I helped organize the event with the school's principal and then worked with the media at the press conference.
Lasting Impact
The students enjoyed being interviewed by the media on their special day and they were featured in local media stories that night. I fully understand that Texas A&M is a national brand, but I also believe that my relationships with local media members will serve as an asset to Texas A&M Libraries because national media agencies often run stories that are first aired/printed on local media outlets.
