Work Sample Selection/Summary

I started my career in marketing as a writer and then added all the other skills listed in these submissions. That was the proper progression because writing is a fundamental part of each design I create, each video I edit, and each webpage I build. The selected work sample below is a press release featuring multiple hires. I imagine I would write similar press releases if hired as the Director of Marketing & Communications for Texas A&M University Libraries.

My Role

The usual process for these press releases is to write them based entirely on the resumes provided to me. I ghostwrite quotes for each of the parties quoted in them and then get them to approve them afterwards, along with headshots that I either photograph or edit to add a background consistent with Bryan ISD's brand. Finally, the superintendent of schools will usually provide minimal edits at the end of the process.

Lasting Impact

The press releases are shared with all our staff and school parents associated with the hires. They are also shared on Bryan ISD’s website/social media and with all our local media outlets. This particular press release generated multiple media stories that I facilitated.
